Remember playing the game Hot-Warm-Cold as a child? When looking for a hidden object, the person who knew the location would say "You're getting warmer" if you were approaching the object, or "You're on fire!" or even "You're burning up" when very close to the object. Conversely, they would inform you that "You're getting colder" if you weren't headed in the right direction or "You're freezing" if you were very far away from the object in question.
The equivalent expressions in Italian are: acqua, acquetta, fuochino, fuocherello, and fuoco. Just don't forget where you hid the object!

I would like to know which are the games commonly played by foreign children. In Italy there is a game called “un, due, tre… stella!” which – I just found out – is the equivalent of “Red Light/Green Light” or “1,2,3,soleil!” (France) and “statues” (Australia) and “1,2,3..calabaza!” (Mexico).
It’s really true: children have no nationality.
