Language or dialect? There are many dialects in Italy as well as minority languages such as Sarda, Friuli, and Sicilian. A member of the About Italian Language forum asks: "how can I learn Neapolitan so I can converse with my girlfriend?". Maybe he should visit the Accademia Napulitana, a organization whose mission it is to promote and preserve the Neapolitan language.
