Start The Presses

Friday November 28, 2008
Good news for those who like to read Italian newspapers in the U.S. Italian-language newspaper printer JB Offset, Westwood, N.J., has ordered a 21-unit Goss Community SSC press from Goss International for installation in a new, 40,000-square-foot facility early next year. According to managing director Domenico Delli Carpini, "We print two daily newspapers for Italian speakers in the U.S.: America Oggi, and La Repubblica. We expect to see the color quality of these publications improve and also production times decrease significantly with the superior quality and high productivity provided by the new Goss Community SSC press."

when i was a little kid, my father, my uncles & their italian “buds” used to read the italian newspapers. they passed the papers among themselves & they all used to get together at one of their houses to drink wine, eat biscotti or bread, cheese & arugala as they argued. they could be pretty loud & argumentative while expressing their different views on italian politics so that the wives would have to intervene. i can’t remember the names of the newspapers…they bought them in an italian import grocery store in san diego, cal, where we lived. the italian newspaper article brought back a lot of memories. marianna
