That's the literal translation for acquacotta, a traditional Tuscan vegetable soup. What distinguishes acquacotta from other Tuscan soups is the addition of eggs and stale bread at the end of preparation.

there are other “cooked phrases”…we have terracotta, pannacotta, salame cotto etc.,
here we have aqua cotta…i love it! but how about when americans say “my goose is cooked”, can we say oca cotta? PS>>the tuscan soup IS deliziosa…i’ve had it. i’m going to find a recipe right now…see ya M
