V2 Day: 25 Aprile 2008

Tuesday April 8, 2008
La marcia del V2-DayMark your calendar—V2 Day is Friday, April 25, 2008, and it promises to be even larger than the original V Day.

For the uninitiated, last September, comedian-cum-grass roots political activist Beppe Grillo organized a political rally that was suprisingly successful, drawing over 300,000 people in public squares throughout Italy demanding legislative and political reform, increased scrutiny of a corrupt political class, and greater accountability at all levels of government.

The theme of V2 Day is: "Libera Informazione in Libero Stato" and signatures will be collected for three referenda: 1) Abolizione dell'ordine dei giornalisti; 2) Abolizione del finanziamento pubblico all'editoria; and 3) Abolizione della legge gasparri.

Not by accident the political manifestazione (demonstration) is scheduled on a national Italian public holiday, La Festa della Liberazione, celebrated yearly on April 25 to mark the anniversary of the 1945 liberation of Italy by Allied troops.

The Web of Grillo

Grillo is also the mirror of Italian society, including all of us, which we are led to make continuous adjustments to adapt to the reality our desires and uncertainties, our subjective perception, then always justify our actions because “as all fans.” But to engage us first we do not even speak. Think of ourselves as primarily responsible for the degradation?
