Vitruvius: Ten Books on Architecture

If you're interested in learning more about architecture and have some time on your hands, try the ten-volume treatise De Architectura written in the first century B.C. by Vitruvius, a Roman architect and military engineer. The work is considered the bible of classic architectural theory and also served to inspire the Italian Renaissance's architects and educated men.
