Friday October 29, 2004
Bocce in a bowling alley?! America's first palace of bocce, located in suburban Detroit, Michigan, opened this year. There are ten indoor courts, a pro shop, and even a trattoria di bocce. There are tournaments and leagues as well. To slake your thirst after a tough match, there's a cocktail bar and traveling espresso and grappa carts.

And to settle any arguments about rules and regulations, there's the U.S. Bocce Federation.
