Italian Vocabulary in the News

Got milk? In the past few weeks the international business news pages have been filled with reports about the "Italian Enron" scandal--the story of how Parmalat, the Italian dairy and food giant, essentially faked a bank account, listing over $10 billion in assets that did not exist.

The company name Parmalat is derived from Parma (a northern town near Bologna where the firm is based) and the Italian word latte, for milk.
