Lyrical National Security Advisor

Sunday July 20, 2003
There's a musical Italian in the White House. Well, sort of. Condoleezza Rice, President Bush's national security advisor, played the flute, violin, and piano as a child. Her given name originates from the Italian musical term con dulce, or con dolcezza, meaning to perform "with sweetness."

Want to name YOUR child after a melodic Italian phrase? For inspiration see the Italian opera vocabulary list, which includes an audio clip for each of the terms.
